ONE WORLD OR NONE, Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen
The publication charts the development of Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen artistic practice and how it within recent years has evolved as a response to the climate crisis. Whether it is through painting, sculpture, installation or public art projects we find an attempt to chart out a new territory for contemporary art to deal with and raise awareness about how architecture frames the everyday life and the surrounding nature – a question, that through the art of Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen opens towards a new relation to the non-human.
Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen trained as an artist at the Royal Danish Art Academy with studies at Hfbk Hamburg and CCA Kitakyushu in Japan and between 2007-2015 he lived in Berlin. In 2018 his project 'Flooded Modernity', a capsized replica of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye, went viral in international media. His works are in private and public collections throughout Denmark, Europe, the US and South Korea.
